Dec 21, 2024, 09:10 PM
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted precision airstrikes on Saturday night targeting a missile storage facility and a command-and-control center operated by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Sana'a, the capital of Yemen. The strikes were aimed at disrupting and degrading Houthi operations, which have included attacks on U.S. Navy warships and merchant vessels in the southern Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden. During the operation, CENTCOM forces also downed multiple Houthi drones and an anti-ship cruise missile over the Red Sea. The operation involved U.S. Air Force and Navy assets, including F/A-18 fighter jets.
