VisitCeltics' Kristaps Porzingis Out for Game 3 of NBA Finals Against Mavericks Due to Rare Injury

The Boston Celtics have announced that Kristaps Porzingis will not play in Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Porzingis is suffering from a torn medial retinaculum, which allowed dislocation of the posterior tibialis tendon in his left leg. The injury, described as 'rare,' was sustained on Sunday night. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla stated that the decision was made by the medical team, and Porzingis remains day-to-day for Game 4 and beyond. Porzingis has been averaging 12.5 points and 5.0 rebounds off the bench in the finals.
