The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed the appeals of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva and her team, preventing them from being reinstated as gold medalists from the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. This decision paves the way for the U.S. figure skating team to receive their long-awaited gold medals during a ceremony planned for August 7, 2024, in Paris. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has confirmed that the medal allocation for gold and silver will occur during the Paris 2024 Games. However, the timeline for the verdict on Canada's appeal to be upgraded to bronze remains uncertain, with Russia still holding the bronze medal for now. The U.S. team will receive their medals more than 900 days after the competition.
