VisitCaroline Marks Wins Gold in Nail-Biter Women's Surfing Final at Paris 2024 Olympics

Caroline Marks of the United States won the gold medal in women's surfing at the Paris 2024 Olympics, held in Teahupo'o, Tahiti, on Monday. Marks' victory, described as a nail-biter, marks the second-ever gold medal for Team USA in women's surfing. The Florida-born surfer won the final match against Brazil's Tatiana Weston-Webb with a score of 10.50 to 10.33. In the men's event, French Polynesian surfer Kauli Vaast claimed the gold medal on his home waves at Teahupo'o, defeating Australian Jack Robinson who took silver. Johanne Defay of France and Gabriel Medina of Brazil secured bronze medals in the women's and men's events, respectively. Marks, who resides in San Clemente, California, delivered a stellar performance.
