A powerful car bomb exploded outside a tea and coffee shop in Mogadishu, Somalia, late Sunday evening, resulting in multiple casualties. The explosion occurred near the Daljirka Dahson statue at Top Coffee Restaurant, with at least nine bodies found inside the café. Preliminary police reports confirm 5 fatalities and around 20 injuries. The attack is suspected to have been carried out by al-Shabaab, with some customers reportedly watching the EURO 2024 game between Spain and England when the blast occurred. Major Abdifitah Aden Hassan, a police spokesperson, confirmed the details to state media. The incident took place near Godka Jilacow, the main prison of Somali Intelligence, in the coastal region of Liido.
