VisitCanada Readies $105 Billion Tariff Countermeasures Against U.S. If Trump Imposes Tariffs
Jan 15, 2025, 10:33 PM
Canada has prepared an initial list of C$150 billion ($105 billion) worth of U.S.-manufactured items that it would target with tariffs if President-elect Donald Trump decides to levy tariffs against Canadian goods, according to a person familiar with the matter on January 15, 2025. The move is in anticipation of potential U.S. tariffs on Canadian exports and would be implemented only in response to U.S. action. The list has been drawn up as Canada readies reciprocal measures should the incoming Trump administration proceed with tariffs against Canada.
