A Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old British man, likely from a heart attack, and injuries to more than 30 people. The Boeing 777-300ER, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, was forced to make an emergency landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. The turbulence, which occurred over the Indian Ocean during a severe storm, caused the plane to drop approximately 6,000 feet in a span of three minutes. Seven of the injured passengers are reported to be in critical condition. The incident occurred on May 20, 2024, and the plane landed at 15:45 local time on May 21, 2024.
