Braintrust, a startup specializing in AI product development, has successfully raised $36 million in a Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). The one-year-old company, which provides large language model (LLM) evaluations and monitoring, is now valued at approximately $150 million. Braintrust's platform supports notable clients such as Stripe, Notion, Airtable, and Instacart. The new funding will be used to advance AI software engineering and introduce 'functions,' a flexible primitive for building with foundation models. This round brings Braintrust's total funding to $45 million.
