Oct 16, 2024, 03:10 PM
Boston Dynamics has announced a partnership with the Toyota Research Institute (TRI) to enhance the AI capabilities of its Atlas humanoid robot. The collaboration aims to integrate TRI's Large Behavior Models with Atlas to improve the robot's dexterous manipulation and whole-body behaviors. This initiative is part of a broader effort to develop general-purpose humanoids that can perform a variety of tasks with high accuracy. Boston Dynamics, acquired by Hyundai in 2020, has previously achieved commercial success with its robotic guard dog and mobile robotic arm for warehouse re-stocking. Hyundai and Toyota are joining forces on AI-powered robots.
