Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka was placed on high alert after receiving a bomb threat on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Rome, Italy. The threat, reported via a call from an unknown number, targeted flight BG-356, which safely landed in Dhaka at 9:20 am local time on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Group Captain Kamrul Islam, the executive director of the airport, confirmed the threat and stated that all 250 passengers and 13 crew members were safely evacuated to the terminal. A thorough search of the aircraft was conducted, but no bomb or explosives were found. The search was completed, and security measures were heightened at the airport in response to the threat.
