Jul 1, 2024, 12:19 AM
Boeing has agreed to acquire Spirit AeroSystems in an all-stock deal valued at $4.7 billion. The agreement, reported on June 30 by Reuters, will see Boeing paying $37.25 per share for Spirit AeroSystems. This acquisition aims to address safety and regulatory concerns, as Spirit AeroSystems has been a key supplier of fuselage components for Boeing. The deal also includes Airbus taking on Spirit's loss-making Europe-focused activities in return for compensation. The total transaction value, including Spirit's net debt, is approximately $8.3 billion. Spirit shareholders will receive 0.25 Boeing shares for each Spirit share. The deal was finalized after months of talks.
