Jun 5, 2024, 01:55 PM
Boeing and NASA successfully launched the Starliner Crew Flight Test (CFT) mission on June 5, 2024, at 10:52 a.m. ET. The launch, which took place from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, marked Boeing's first crewed mission to the International Space Station (ISS). Astronauts Barry 'Butch' Wilmore and Sunita 'Suni' Williams are aboard the spacecraft. This mission follows two previous attempts that were scrubbed due to technical issues. The launch was carried out using United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket. The mission is a significant milestone for Boeing, which has faced years of delays and over $1.4 billion in unexpected charges. The Starliner successfully separated from the Atlas V rocket and is now on its way to dock with the ISS.
