VisitBoeing's Starliner Set for Historic First Crewed Launch to ISS on June 1 with Wilmore and Williams
May 31, 2024, 09:42 PM
Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is set for its historic first crewed launch to the International Space Station (ISS) on June 1, 2024. The mission, part of NASA's Commercial Crew Program, will see astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams aboard the spacecraft. The launch is scheduled for 12:25 p.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, with a 90% favorable weather forecast. This launch follows numerous delays and setbacks, including a helium leak discovered earlier this month. NASA and Boeing teams have conducted thorough reviews and given the green light for the mission. The spacecraft will dock with the ISS approximately 24 hours after launch. The Starliner will be launched atop an Atlas V rocket, with ULA engineers overseeing the preparations. NASA will provide live coverage of the event.
