VisitBoeing's Calypso Starliner Returns from ISS Without Astronauts After 6:04 p.m. ET Undocking
Sep 6, 2024, 10:05 PM
Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, known as Calypso, has undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) at 6:04 p.m. ET and is returning to Earth without any astronauts on board. The uncrewed return follows months of safety concerns and technical issues that prompted NASA to decide against using the spacecraft to bring back astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams. The Starliner is scheduled to land at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico around midnight on September 7. The astronauts will remain on the ISS until February 2025, when they are expected to return aboard a SpaceX Dragon mission.
