VisitBoeing Locks Out 130 Firefighters, Brings in Replacements Amid Wage Dispute
May 4, 2024, 06:18 PM
Boeing has locked out approximately 130 firefighters who work at its 737 factory and other operations in Washington state following a contract dispute over wages with the firefighters' union. The company had threatened to lock out its private force of firefighters, who protect its aircraft-manufacturing plants in the Seattle area, if they did not accept the company's last offer on wages. The lockout came into effect on Friday night after negotiations failed to reach an agreement, and replacements were brought in.
