BNB Chain Introduces opBNB Layer-2 Solution to Enhance Scalability

BNB Chain, the Binance-founded layer-1 blockchain, has introduced a new layer-2 solution, opBNB, aimed at addressing scalability issues. Based on the Optimism OP Stack, opBNB enhances security and can handle over 4,000 transactions per second at a cost of less than $0.005 per transaction. The chain supports Ethereum-based smart contracts and was launched as a testnet on June 19.
