Blue Alert: Texas Hunts for 33-Year-Old Seth Altman in Shooting of Police Chief

A Texas Blue Alert was issued shortly before 5 a.m. Friday for 33-year-old Seth Altman, who is wanted for the attempted capital murder of Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant in Hall County, Texas. The incident occurred when Chief Plant and another officer attempted to arrest Altman for attempted burglary. Altman allegedly emerged, pulled a gun, and shot Plant multiple times before fleeing. The Texas Department of Public Safety considers Altman armed and dangerous. Memphis, located in the Texas Panhandle approximately 80 miles southeast of Amarillo, is the focus of a statewide manhunt.
