BLS Introduces Safeguards After Data Release Delay

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is implementing new safeguards to ensure equal data access following a delay in the release of jobs data on August 21. The delay, which lasted over half an hour, required staff to manually upload the data. In response, the BLS will now release data through multiple platforms, including social media. Additionally, employees handling data inquiries will only share numbers with clients after senior BLS staff confirm the data is publicly available.
