BJP-Ruled Ujjain Mandates Shops to Display Names and Numbers, Fines for Violations

The BJP-ruled Ujjain Municipal Corporation has mandated that shop owners display their names and mobile numbers outside their establishments in the ancient city. This directive aims to ensure transparency and is not targeting any community. Violators will face fines of Rs 2,000 for the first offence and Rs 5,000 for repeat violations. This move follows similar actions by the Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh governments.
