BJP Leads in Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections with 43 Seats, Including Pema Khandu's

The counting of votes for the 2024 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections is underway. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already secured 10 seats unopposed in the 60-member assembly, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu's seat. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP is currently leading in 33 seats, bringing their total to 43 seats, which exceeds the majority mark of 31. The National People's Party (NPP) is leading in 6 seats, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in 4, the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) in 3, and Independent candidates in 2, including the Khonsa (East) constituency. The BJP's significant lead suggests a strong performance in these elections.
