VisitBJP Accuses Tejashwi Yadav of Stealing Taps, ACs from Bihar Deputy CM's Official Residence
Oct 7, 2024, 11:21 AM
Tejashwi Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has been accused by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of removing government property from his official residence upon vacating it. The BJP alleges that items such as air conditioners, taps, sofas, beds, gym equipment, an expensive washbasin, and even the mat from the badminton court have been taken from the Deputy CM's bungalow in Patna. Caretakers of the residence reportedly showed missing fixtures, stating that "the ACs have been removed" and "there used to be a hydraulic bed here which is missing now." BJP spokespersons, including Danish Iqbal and Ajay Alok, have highlighted these missing items, claiming that this constitutes theft of government property and stating that "this has been shown on camera." RJD representatives have denied these charges, with party spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari dismissing them as "petty politics" and saying that "the public is watching all of this." RJD MP Sudhakar Singh called on the government to release an official list of items provided, asserting that "everything would be clear." State Minister Dr. Prem Kumar commented that taking government goods is wrong and should be investigated.
