VisitBingX Exchange Hacked, $26.68M in Crypto Stolen, Including 4,526 ETH and 7,864.7 BNB
Sep 20, 2024, 03:08 AM
BingX, a cryptocurrency exchange, has reportedly been hacked, resulting in the loss of approximately $26 million in various cryptocurrencies. The incident involved the transfer of more than 360 altcoins to a hacker's address, which were then swapped for Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Coin (BNB). The stolen assets included significant amounts of USDT (4.44M), WUSD (1.04M), USDC (608.7K), BTCB (9.38), and ZRO (86,545). The hacker has already exchanged most of the stolen tokens for 4,526 ETH and 7,864.7 BNB across multiple EVM platforms. BingX initially described the situation as 'temporary maintenance,' but the scale of the outflows has raised concerns about the security of the exchange's hot wallets.
