Bihar's ₹1,710 Crore Sultanganj-Aguwani Bridge Collapses into Ganga for Third Time

The under-construction Sultanganj-Aguwani Ghat bridge in Bihar has collapsed for the third time, with a section of its superstructure falling into the Ganga River. The bridge, which has been under construction for nearly 11 years with an estimated cost of ₹1,710 crore, has faced repeated structural failures. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha and other officials have expressed concern over the incident, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the repeated collapses. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav have also called for accountability and action against those responsible. The bridge's collapse has raised questions about the technical and managerial aspects of its construction.
