President Joe Biden has issued an order blocking MineOne Partners Limited, a Chinese-backed cryptocurrency mining firm, from owning land near Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. The decision, citing national security concerns, mandates the firm, which never got proper clearance, to divest the property it acquired in June 2022 within 120 days. The proximity of MineOne's operations to the base, which houses nuclear ballistic missiles, was deemed a significant risk. The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CIFUS) coordinated this action, highlighting the potential for espionage given the strategic location.
