The Biden administration is urging the tech industry to take action against the growing market of abusive sexual images created with artificial intelligence (AI). In the absence of federal legislation, the administration is seeking voluntary cooperation from big tech companies to self-regulate and curb the production of nonconsensual explicit deepfakes. These AI-generated images are affecting a wide range of individuals, including celebrities, children, teenage girls, and gay kids. The White House is also involving financial institutions in its efforts to address this issue.
