The package is part of a broader effort by the Biden administration to support Ukraine, with President Joe Biden recently requesting an additional $24 billion from Congress, including $16 billion to restock U.S. weapons and $8 billion for manufacturing weapons for Kyiv. The U.S. has provided nearly $65 billion in military assistance to Ukraine since Russia's invasion began on February 24, 2022.
