VisitBiden Administration Announces $225 Million Funding for Bosch's $1.9 Billion Silicon Carbide Plant, Creating 700 Jobs in California
Dec 13, 2024, 04:06 PM
The Biden-Harris Administration announced a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms between the U.S. Department of Commerce and Bosch USA, which could provide up to $225 million in direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act. This funding is aimed at supporting Bosch's Roseville facility, which will become the largest silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors manufacturing site globally. Bosch plans to increase its investment in the California chip plant to $1.9 billion, bolstered by this government support. The initiative is expected to create approximately 700 jobs in the Sacramento region, contributing to the production of chips essential for electric vehicles (EVs) and clean energy technologies.
