The City of Berkeley issued an evacuation order for residents in the tsunami zone of West Berkeley, California, due to a possible incoming tsunami following a 7.3 magnitude earthquake off the coast. The evacuation order covered areas including the Berkeley Waterfront, Tom Bates Fields, West Frontage Road, I-80 Freeway, Aquatic Park, and streets west of 7th St. Residents were instructed to stay east of 7th St. for safety. The order was later lifted after the tsunami warning was canceled.
