According to sources including ESPN's Adam Schefter and Pete Thamel, Belichick has had multiple conversations with UNC officials, including a reported five-hour meeting with Chancellor Lee Roberts on Sunday. Clarity on his future is expected soon, as UNC aims to make a decision this week, with the transfer portal now open. On the Pat McAfee Show, Belichick acknowledged the talks but was non-committal, emphasizing the word 'IF' when discussing the possibility of coaching at the collegiate level. He stated, 'We’ve had a couple of good conversations and we'll see how it goes.' Belichick noted the increasing similarities between college football and the NFL, calling college football 'more like pro football now than it has ever been before.' He expressed interest in potentially running a college program like an NFL organization, suggesting it could serve as a pipeline to the NFL for players. Belichick also mentioned that he has taken a longer look at the college season this year and found it 'interesting.'
