Belgium has introduced a groundbreaking law granting sex workers a range of labor rights, including access to health insurance, paid leave, pensions, maternity leave, safety protections, and the ability to sign formal employment contracts. This legislation marks a global first, following the decriminalization of sex work in the country in 2022. The new law aims to provide sex workers with the same employment rights as other professions, such as unemployment benefits, vacation time, and retirement contributions.
