Jun 29, 2024, 11:35 AM
Belarus is taking significant measures to reinforce its border with Ukraine following a series of security incidents. On June 28, the Belarusian Border Service reported bringing down a quadcopter that was collecting information about the border. The Ministry of Defense of Belarus, along with the State Border Committee, is conducting inspections and deploying multiple rocket launch systems and air defense systems to the Gomel-Chernihiv border. Since June 21, the Ministry has also been conducting a PSYOP about Polonez systems. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus described the situation on the border as difficult, with speculation of a potential new offensive in the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions. Belarus has also accused Ukraine of increased drone activity and has deployed additional air defense forces to protect critical infrastructure facilities.
