Bayer has agreed to pay $160 million to settle a lawsuit by the city of Seattle, which accused its Monsanto unit of polluting the municipal storm-water-drainage system and a local river with banned chemicals, specifically PCB contamination. The settlement includes $35 million for PCB remediation and $125 million to address other claims by Seattle. Monsanto did not admit liability or wrongdoing in the settlement.
