VisitBath & Body Works Apologizes, Pulls 'Snowed In' Candle Over Snowflake Design Resembling KKK Hoods
Oct 14, 2024, 02:45 PM
Bath & Body Works has apologized and removed its "Snowed In" holiday candle from stores and its website after consumers criticized the paper snowflake design on its label for resembling Ku Klux Klan hoods. The candle, which was promoted on social media and nicknamed the "Klandle" by some users, featured snowflake imagery that many said looked similar to the white hoods worn by KKK members. The company stated, "We apologize to anyone we've offended," and emphasized that the images were intended to represent paper snowflakes. The candle has been pulled following the backlash.
