VisitBarkley's 55-Yard Run and TD Put Eagles Ahead 7-0 Over Giants
Oct 20, 2024, 05:52 PM
In a game at MetLife Stadium, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley made a significant impact against his former team, the New York Giants. Barkley broke off a 55-yard run and later scored a 3-yard touchdown, giving the Eagles a 7-0 lead with 8:58 remaining in the second quarter. The Eagles' five-play, 74-yard touchdown drive was comprised entirely of rushing plays, including contributions from running back Kenneth Gainwell, who added runs of 12 and 4 yards. Barkley, who holds the record for most rushing yards in MetLife Stadium history, accumulated 75 rushing yards on nine carries during the game. Notably, Barkley now has three rushes of over 50 yards this season, while the Eagles had not had a single run of 50-plus yards in the previous three seasons. Eagles fans started chants in the stands as Barkley scored against his former team.
