VisitBarclays Doubles Cloud Estate with HPE GreenLake, HPE Stock Rises 7%
Sep 17, 2024, 09:51 AM
Barclays has significantly expanded its private cloud estate by partnering with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) and utilizing HPE GreenLake Cloud services. This new deal cements HPE GreenLake Cloud as a core component of Barclays' hybrid cloud strategy, effectively doubling its private cloud estate. HPE has already supported the migration and deployment of over 50,000 workloads for Barclays, with plans to double this number over the next three years. The robust platform provided by HPE, which supports AI and data-driven innovation, was a key factor in Barclays' decision to deepen this partnership. Following the announcement, HPE's stock saw a significant increase, rising nearly 7% in a day and 17% since the previous week, making it one of the best performers in the S&P 500.
