VisitBangkok's Ember Hotel Fire Kills Brazilian, Ukrainian, American Tourists; Seven Injured Near Khao San Road

A fire broke out at the Ember Hotel on Tanee Road near Bangkok's Khao San Road, a popular tourist destination, at around 21:20 local time, killing three foreign tourists and injuring seven others, bringing total casualties to ten, according to Thai authorities. The three deceased were identified as a Brazilian, a Ukrainian, and an American national. The fire started on the fifth floor of the 11-story, 48-room hotel, where approximately 75 guests were staying in 38 rooms. The fire prompted the evacuation of guests and staff from the hotel. Thai Governor Chadchart Sittipunt ordered a temporary closure of the hotel and an investigation into the cause of the blaze. Among the injured are potentially two Japanese nationals who are reported to be in serious condition.
