Azerbaijan will implement new regulations regarding the temporary stay of Russian citizens, reducing the allowed duration from 180 days to 90 days per calendar year. This change is set to take effect on January 1, 2024, following a Cabinet of Ministers order. The adjustment comes in response to recent changes in Russian laws that have affected the stay duration for foreign nationals, including those from Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry confirmed that these new rules are part of the government's right to amend residency regulations. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ayhan Hacizade, addressed local media inquiries about the legislative changes, emphasizing the legal grounds for these amendments.
