AWS to Pilot AI-Designed Carbon Removal Tech in Data Centers by 2025

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has entered into a strategic partnership with Orbital Materials, an AI technology startup, to pilot innovative materials aimed at decarbonizing and increasing the efficiency of its data centers. Orbital Materials will develop and test its integrated data center carbon removal technology by the end of 2025. This initiative is part of Amazon's broader commitment to sustainability, focusing on reducing emissions from its AI operations. The pilot program will involve the installation of an AI-designed 'sponge' for carbon capture in AWS data centers worldwide, starting in 2025, to address the carbon footprint of its AI operations.
