VisitAvalanche Trade for Veteran Goalie Scott Wedgewood, Send Annunen and 2025 Sixth-Round Pick to Predators
Nov 30, 2024, 03:07 PM
The Colorado Avalanche have acquired goaltender Scott Wedgewood from the Nashville Predators in exchange for goaltender Justus Annunen and a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Wedgewood, 32, brings experience to the Avalanche's goaltending, having posted a 3.01 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage in 135 NHL games. He set a career-high with 32 games played for Dallas last season. The Avalanche aim to bolster their backup position behind starting goaltender Alexandar Georgiev. The Predators receive the 24-year-old Annunen, who is eight years younger than Wedgewood and has shown promise with a 16-9-2 career record with Colorado. Wedgewood's tenure with Nashville lasted less than two months and five appearances. The trade reflects the Predators' focus on acquiring young talent to improve their roster.
