Sep 18, 2024, 10:48 AM
Australian police have arrested a 32-year-old man, Jay Je Yoon Jung, from Sydney on suspicion of creating and managing the Ghost messaging app, an encrypted platform used by organized crime networks for drug trafficking, money laundering, and orchestrating murders. The arrest is part of a global law enforcement operation led by Europol, which has dismantled the Ghost platform and resulted in 51 arrests across multiple countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, and Sweden. The platform was notorious for enabling large-scale drug trafficking, money laundering, and other criminal activities, including moving 128kg of methamphetamine.
