Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr., aged 50, and his wife La'Quetta Small, 47, have been charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. The charges, announced by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office on Monday, allege that the couple physically and emotionally abused their teenage daughter, aged 15 or 16, on multiple occasions between December 2023 and January 2024. Specific allegations include an incident where Mayor Small is accused of hitting his daughter multiple times in the head with a broom, causing her to lose consciousness. La'Quetta Small also serves as the superintendent of the Atlantic City Public Schools.
