The Atlanta Falcons have hired 47-year-old Jeff Ulbrich as their new defensive coordinator, the team announced. Ulbrich, a former NFL linebacker, previously served as the defensive coordinator and interim head coach for the New York Jets, leading the team for the final 12 games of the season. He returns to Atlanta, where he worked from 2015 to 2020 alongside head coach Raheem Morris. The Falcons moved on from defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake after the defense's struggles this season and interviewed seven candidates before selecting Ulbrich, who chose Atlanta over other opportunities.
