Assad Urges Turkey to Intervene Against Rebels, Seeks Weapons and Intelligence from Arab Countries

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has urged Turkey to intervene to stop rebel factions and has requested weapons and intelligence assistance from several Arab countries including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq. However, his requests have so far been met with refusal, according to Syrian security officials and Arab officials cited by The Wall Street Journal.
