The U.S. Army has issued a rare statement following an altercation between the Trump campaign and an Arlington National Cemetery employee during a wreath-laying ceremony. During a visit by former President Donald Trump, a cemetery employee was "abruptly pushed aside" by a member of Trump's staff while attempting to enforce rules prohibiting political activity. The Army confirmed that the Trump staffers were informed of federal laws regarding political activity at the cemetery.
