VisitArmie Hammer Stars in Uwe Boll's 'The Dark Knight' Vigilante Thriller, Filming Starts January 27 in Croatia
Jan 7, 2025, 07:03 PM
Armie Hammer is set to star in the lead role of Uwe Boll's new vigilante thriller titled 'The Dark Knight.' The film, which is not related to Christopher Nolan's Batman series, follows Hammer's character, Sanders, who takes justice into his own hands to hunt down criminals. While his crusade transforms him into a social media sensation and a hero in the eyes of the public, the local police chief sees him as a menace to society and aims to take him down. Production for the movie, based on an original script by Boll, is scheduled to begin on January 27 in Croatia. This role marks a significant step in Hammer's return to acting following a career hiatus due to allegations of sexual misconduct and cannibalism in 2021, from which he was not charged by Los Angeles prosecutors in 2023. Hammer has recently been active in the industry, including a role in the forthcoming western 'Frontier Crucible' alongside Thomas Jane and William H. Macy. Uwe Boll, known for his controversial directorial choices, expressed excitement about bringing the crime-fighting story to life, emphasizing its relevance to current societal themes and stating there is 'no danger of confusion' with Nolan's film.
