Sep 18, 2024, 06:20 PM
Armenian authorities have thwarted an attempted coup aimed at violently seizing power. The National Security Service of Armenia reported that the plot involved seven individuals, including five Armenian citizens and two former residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, who allegedly underwent military training in Russia. Three suspects have been arrested, while four others remain at large. The Investigative Committee of Armenia stated that the coup was organized by pro-Russian forces, with the conspirators receiving a monthly funding of 220,000 RUB each. The Armenian government has accused Russia of orchestrating the coup to undermine Armenia's sovereignty. The thwarted coup was reported on Sept. 18 and targeted the Pashinyan government.
