SoftBank's subsidiary Arm Holdings is set to launch its AI chips in 2025, marking a significant advancement in AI technology. The U.K.-based company plans to establish an AI chip division, aiming to develop a prototype by spring 2025 and commence mass production by fall of the same year. The production will be outsourced to contract manufacturers. This initiative is part of a larger ¥10 trillion yen ($64 billion) investment by SoftBank to position itself as a leader in AI technology. There are also reports suggesting the possibility of spinning off Arm's AI chip division to operate directly under SoftBank.
