The Arizona Cardinals have secured their star safety, Budda Baker, with a three-year contract extension worth $54 million, including $30 million guaranteed. This deal, which extends through the 2027 season, makes Baker's $18 million average annual value the largest third contract for a safety in NFL history. The extension was negotiated by David Mulugheta of Athletes First. Baker, a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, has been a cornerstone of the Cardinals' defense since being drafted by the team in the second round in 2017. At 28 years old and in his eighth NFL season, Baker has recorded 142 tackles, two sacks, and three passes defensed, demonstrating his continued elite performance on the field.
