Argentina has filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Venezuela's Attorney General Tarek William Saab over the alleged arbitrary detention and forced disappearance of Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo on December 8, 2024. The incident occurred when Gallo was detained in Venezuela. The Argentine government, led by President Javier Milei, has described the detention as a 'grave and flagrant violation of human rights,' part of a systematic pattern of crimes against humanity in Venezuela under the regime of Nicolás Maduro. The complaint also targets Maduro's regime, accusing it of the kidnapping of Gallo. Argentina's Foreign Ministry stated that it will continue to use all legal and diplomatic resources to ensure Gallo's rights, protect human rights, and demand international justice.
