VisitArcom Overhauls TNT Channel Numbers: News Block, France 4, and New Entrants Effective June 6, 2025
Jan 13, 2025, 02:24 PM
The French audiovisual regulatory authority, Arcom, has announced a significant overhaul of the channel numbering on the country's digital terrestrial television (TNT) network, set to take effect from June 6, 2025. The changes include the creation of a dedicated block for news channels, with BFMTV, CNews, LCI, and Franceinfo occupying channels 13 to 16, respectively. France 4 will replace Canal+ on channel 4, while LCP/Public Sénat will move to channel 8, previously held by C8. Gulli will shift to channel 12, formerly occupied by NRJ12. Two new channels, CMI TV and OFTV, will be introduced on channels 18 and 19, respectively. This reshuffling follows the non-renewal of broadcasting rights for C8 and NRJ12, and Canal+'s decision to withdraw from TNT. The overhaul was announced by Roch-Olivier Maistre, the outgoing president of Arcom, before his successor Martin Ajdari takes over. The changes also involve the introduction of channels by Ouest-France and Daniel Kretinsky's group, enhancing the diversity of the TNT lineup.
